Built by researchers tired of 40 open tabs.
StateOfArt was built because every literature review begins the same way: a frantic Google Scholar session, dozens of tabs, a folder of unsorted PDFs, and a vague feeling that you've already read this paper before.
We thought about what a serious literature review actually requires — defining a research question, collecting papers from legal sources, summarizing them rigorously, comparing methods, identifying gaps, and producing a structured state-of-the-art — and we built one workspace for that entire workflow.
We do not bypass paywalls. We do not redistribute PDFs. We do not invent citations. We use OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar, Crossref, arXiv, CORE, and Unpaywall-compatible legal links to surface open-access work. When no legal copy exists we surface the DOI and let you upload a PDF you legally own.
StateOfArt is the literature review tool we wished existed during our own PhDs. It treats AI as a careful research assistant — not as a hallucinating chatbot.
